The song's title is stemmed from the phrase "For those about to Die..." which comes from ancient Rome in which gladiators would fight to the death in the arena before each match, one of the combatants would always yell out to the high rulers: "Those who are about to die salute you."
The song "Back In Black" is a tribute to their late singer Bon Scott who died in 1980, in fact; AC/DC recorded it a few months after he passed.
