Active shooting situation at Tops in Buffalo, according to Erie County Executive Mark Poloncarz.

The suspect is in custody. Police are investigating.

A man is hurt after a shooting in a St. Cloud park on Thursday afternoon. Police say they received reports of shots fired just after 12:30 p.m. at Central Park, north of Third Street North. Witnesses said several people were fighting before several shots were fired.

Pop star legend Whitney Houston has died at the age of 48. The cause and location of her death has yet to be released. Kim Jong Il, the eccentric leader of North Korea since 1994, has died at the age of 69. North Korea’s state-run KCNA news agency reported that after “great mental and physical strain,” he passed away of a heart attack at 8:30 a.m. Saturday while on a train during a “field guidance tour.”

Former Libyan dictator Muammar Gadhafi, who’s been in hiding since August when a NATO-backed rebel force seized his headquarters in Tripoli, was killed on Thursday after rebels stormed his hometown of Sirte, where the last remnants of troops loyal to him were hiding. He was 69 years old.

According to media outlets, Libyan officials are announcing the death of former Libyan dictator Muammar Gadhafi by wounds suffered when an eight-month-old revolution effort overran his hometown of Sirte.

The 5.8 magnitude quake originated in central Virginia, but it was strong enough to be felt throughout much of the east coast, including New York City and Washington D.C.
