A new state-of-the-art training facility officially opened Thursday at Camp Ripley Training Center in Little Falls.

Checking out military planes, talking with vets and a chance to ride in a Humvee were just a few of the attractions at Camp Ripley Sunday afternoon.

Veterans, family, and friends are getting together to honor their service. Camp Ripley is hosting their Open House and Community Appreciation Day.

One local artist has dedicated almost a decade of his life to honoring and memorializing our nation's Armed Forces.

The best soldiers in the National Guard will be at Camp Ripley showing what they've got over the next week.

Don't be alarmed if you see large plumes of smoke from Camp Ripley this spring. To reduce the risk of wildfire, the Army post will be starting it's annual round of controlled burns before the summer training season.

Every other year, Camp Ripley opens it's doors to the public for a community appreciation Open House -- and that day is this Sunday, September 20th from 10 AM to 2 PM. The event is free to attend, and features military equipment, law enforcement displays, the military museum, kids activities, food & drink, and much more.

The mobile museum and memorial is dedicated to the soldiers of the 9th Inf. Division and sailors of Navy Task Force 117 and others.

Even when we appreciate the contributions and sacrifices that are made by the men and women in the armed forces; it's good for us to see them, and what and how they do what they do first hand -- to help put things in perspective. The opportunity presented itself yesterday at Camp Ripley.
