Race Day has finally arrived, and NASCAR'S 2018 Monster Energy Cup season gets underway this afternoon in Florida with the 60th running of the Daytona 500.

Denny Hamlin edged out Martin Truex Jr. by inches at the finish line to win his first Daytona 500 at Daytona International Speedway in Florida on Sunday afternoon.

Chase Elliot, son of nascar legend Bill Elliott, will have the pole when the 2016 NASCAR Sprint Cup season gets the green flag this afternoon at the 58th running of the Daytona 500. The race day forecast is for sunshine and 75˚. Anyone else wish you were there?

24 year-old Joey Logano has become the second youngest driver to win the Daytona 500. Kevin Harvick finished 2nd, and Dale Earnhardt, Jr. finished 3rd. Denny Hamlin & Jimmie Johnson rounded out the top-five in a race that finished under caution. Pole-sitter Jeff Gordon led 87 laps and finished 33rd.

The first female to win a cup at the Daytona International Speedway is more than just a pretty face. She’s a pretty fast, um, face.
