Graduation

St. Cloud State University will be graduating around 800 students next Friday, December 15th. Jason Woods is the Vice President at SCSU and he joined me on WJON today along with, soon to be graduates Angie Notsch and Ryan Heyer.

Graduates and families of graduates can get very excited about the announcement of students' names during graduation ceremonies. Because of this Tech and Apollo High Schools have traditionally asked families and students from applause and outbursts while names are announced so all names can be heard and for the process to proceed in a timely fashion.

Graduates this year aren't getting the typical-end-of-high school experience, but we still think they deserve to be celebrated and have their hard work acknowledged.

Foley high school seniors know how to handle their last day of school. “Tractor Day” could take up an entire park or more. Yet Foley's Seniors manage to fit the festivities into their high school parking lot.

St. Cloud area schools are seeing a rise in graduation rates according to the Minnesota Department of Education.

Nearly 2,500 young men and women will be getting their hard earned college degrees this weekend at graduation ceremonies. SCSU on Friday, St. Ben's on Saturday, and St. John's on Sunday.
