The Granite City Lumberjacks will open their season Saturday night. They're hosting the Alexandria Blizzard at 7:30 p.m. at Sports Arena East in Sauk Rapids.
The Granite City Lumberjacks topped the North Iowa Bulls 3-2 Sunday afternoon to win the NA3HL's Silver Cup. The Jacks advance to the USA Hockey Tier 3 Junior National Championship starting Friday in Simsbury, Connecticut.

The Granite City Lumberjacks won the NA3HL Junior Hockey League title 2-1 over St. Louis in Geneva, Illinois Monday afternoon. Trevor Ness and Kyle Castle each scored a goal and Matt Grove had 19 saves for the Lumberjacks.
