Rockville is a town of 2,448 people in Central Minnesota south and west of St. Cloud located in the southeastern portion of Stearns County. Rockville was originally platted in 1856 and named for granite rock formations on nearby streams. Levi Gaylord was selected as the first Postmaster of the town.
The public access on Grand Lake near Rockville is closed this week while crews work to remove Starry Stonewart. Divers and other workers will be in the water trying to remove the invasive weed by hand.
Games, food and more Rockville is kicking off its summer Rockfest festival Saturday in downtown Rockville. Rockfest volunteer organizer Kirstin Stanger says they will have plenty of activities for families.
