The "red" kettles from the Salvation Army are visible this time of year throughout Central Minnesota. Major Mike Parker from the St. Cloud Salvation Army joined me on WJON. He says they are about a quarter toward their financial goal for the season. He says the kettle goal is $200,000 and they just went over $50,000.
The Salvation Army's bell ringing season is going on right now through Christmas Eve, when the red kettles are packed away for the season. Volunteers like you are the difference between an empty kettle and one that makes a difference. Are you or your family ready to 'ring for good?'
Two St. Cloud couples are working together to raise money for the St. Cloud Salvation Army's Back to School Fundraiser. Ann Thelen and Mark Thelen along with Diana Murphy-Podawiltz and Mike Podawiltz will be donating a minimum of $3,000 with the goal of raising $6,000.
Catholic Charities of St. Cloud won't be holding a school supply drive or distribution program this year. The Salvation Army of St. Cloud is hoping to fill the void.
