The St. Cloud Crush narrowly defeated Sartell-St. Stephen 142.925 to 142.100 in the Section 8AA gymnastics section meet last weekend to qualify for the Class AA State Meet this Friday and Saturday at Roy Wilkins Auditorium in St. Paul.

Today is spring signing day and 17 senior student athletes have committed to participate in college sports starting in the 2024-2025 school year.

Both the Sartell-St. Stephen and Sauk Rapids-Rice boys basketball teams saw their seasons come to an end Wednesday night in the Section 8-4-A quarterfinals. The Sabres lost at top seeded Rogers 60-44 while Sauk Rapids-Rice fell at home to 5th seeded Moorhead 73-72 Wednesday night.

It was a special day for eight Sartell-St. Stephen seniors as they signed their college letter of intent.

The Sartell-St. Stephen baseball team is headed back to the Class 4-A State Tournament after capturing the Section 8-4-A Title in Cold Spring Thursday afternoon. The Sabres beat Rogers 8-3, a 2nd game wasn't necessary.

The State swimming & diving meet will take place Thursday - Saturday at the Jean K. Freeman Aquatic Center on the University of Minnesota campus.

Sartell-St. Stephen athletics has experienced success in numerous activities over the years. Many of those athletes signed letters of intent to continue participating in athletics at the college level starting next year.

A return to their winnings ways. That's the goal for the Sartell-St. Stephen Sabres. Head Coach Scott Hentges joined me on WJON. The Sabres were 1-8 last season but have already started this season 1-0 after posting a 42-21 win over Tech last week on week zero.

Local wrestlers competed at the MSHSL Wrestling State Championships Thursday through Saturday and several teams and individuals will be returning with some hardware.

Despite the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention cutting its COVID isolation guidance in half, area school districts are not making the same adjustments just yet.

The Sartell-St. Stephen school board has narrowed down their list of candidates for their next superintendent.

All schools will stay in this learning model through December 4th.
