Being a 3-year varsity starter is a great accomplishment for anyone but doing so as a 9th grader is incredible. Freshman Ava Knutson is one of the top pitchers for the Sauk Rapids-Rice softball team and has been a varsity starter since she was a 7th grader.
ROCORI lost 6-2 to St. Francis Wednesday in the Class 3-A State Softball Tournament Quarterfinals at Caswell Park in North Mankato. The Spartans went out to a 1-0 lead in the 1st inning but St. Francis responded with 2 runs 2nd inning, added 1 run in the 4th and 5th innings before scoring 2 more runs in the 7th inning.
Cathedral defeated defeated Class 2-A champion Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton 2-1. Senior Ella Voit pitched the complete game, giving up 4 hits, 1 walk and had 7 strikeouts.

Cathedral defeated Pillager 15-1 Wednesday to stay in the winners bracket in the Section 6-2-A baseball playoffs. Trevor Fleege pitched five strong innings for the complete game win, scattering four hits and giving up no earned runs.
The St. Cloud Rox welcomed back fans to Joe Faber Field and earned their first win of the season, the Minnesota Lynx picked up a second straight win, the Twins got stomped by Kansas City, and post-season play continued for central Minnesota prep baseball and softball teams.
