St. Cloud State announced last week they are reducing on campus housing costs and offering free housing in the summer for students who sign up early starting in the fall of 2023. The President of St. Cloud State University, Dr. Robbyn Wacker joined me on WJON.

Homecoming week on campus is going to be a flurry of various events getting people together to celebrate all things Husky pride.

The talk of recession in the United States has been going on for months. St. Cloud State Dean, School of Public Affairs and Economic Professor King Banaian joined me on WJON. He says we may be in a recession now and if not now, soon.

The school year is underway and St. Cloud State's President Dr. Robbyn Wacker is excited about the feeling around campus right now. She says the campus has a much different feel this year as opposed to the last couple of years due to adjustments made for the pandemic.

St. Cloud State University President Dr. Robbyn Wacker joined me on WJON today. She says they have 5 reported COVID-19 positive cases on their most recent dashboard. She says they have a mask mandate, people are wearing masks on campus and in the classroom.

St. Cloud State University is now offering a new doctorate in nursing, in collaboration with the University of Minnesota.

Colleges and Universities have stepped up their aggressiveness in pursuing students over the past few years. St. Cloud State University President Dr. Robbyn Wacker joined me on WJON today. She says many schools are dealing with reduced enrollment but this hasn't caused them to lower their standards.

Wacker says they've adjusted to what is a new normal with masks and a combination of in-person and online classes for students. She says despite the pandemic students and staff are still excited about the beginning of the school year.

The freeze will hold tuition rates at the level charged for fiscal year 2020 for students at all 30 Minnesota State schools.

Award-winning Documentary filmmaker Byron Hurt spoke at St. Cloud State University yesterday.

The St. Cloud State University Huskies beat the Concordia St. Paul Golden Bears 56-21 Saturday evening.

St. Cloud State University has been given a $420,000 grant from Great Lakes Higher Education Corporation. The grant is designed to help "at-risk" students overcome financial obstacles through 2019.
