St. Patrick's Day

Many Minnesotans have Irish heritage and even if you don't Minnesota likes to celebrate St. Patrick's Day with everything green. Jake Juliot is the PR and Communications Specialist from Explore Minnesota.

St. Patrick's Day is officially on Friday, March 17th, 2023 but with it landing on a Friday it allows businesses to celebrate all weekend long.

Minnesota has many locations in the state to celebrate St. Patrick's Day. This includes a St. Patty's Day parade in Marty, Minnesota at 1pm Saturday March 12. Alyssa Hayes from Explore Minnesota joined me on WJON today.

Don't worry, green beer is NOT on the list.

Downtown St. Cloud is going to be everything Irish tonight and tomorrow for St. Patty's Day, so make sure you keep these nuggets of 'Irish' facts in your back pocket to pull out when needed.

Central Minnesota will be painted green this weekend with many of us celebrating St. Patrick's Day. You can hear some Irish Folk music with We Banjo 3 and the Ring of Kerry, go for a run at the Shamrock Shuffle in Sauk Rapids, check out the annual Marty Parade, and make your way to Rice for other St. Patrick's Day events. St. Patrick's Day isn't until next Friday, but a couple popular local events will be kicking off the fun this weekend.

The new Irish pub in downtown St. Cloud is planning an outdoor party on St. Patrick's Day. The Olde Brick House has plans to close a portion of 6th Avenue South, between Highway 23 and 1st Street South.
