Travis Ishikawa hit a game-winning, three-run homer off Michael Wacha in the bottom of the ninth inning, and the Giants beat the St. Louis Cardinals, 6-3, in San Francisco on Thursday night to win Game 5 of the National League Championship Series and advance to the World Series for the third time in five years.

Eric Hosmer's first-inning ground ball produced two runs, and the Royals completed a four-game sweep of the Baltimore Orioles with a 2-1 victory in Game 4 of the American League Championship Series in Kansas City on Wednesday afternoon.

Shane Victorino had two hits and four runs batted in, and the Red Sox beat the St. Louis Cardinals, 6-1, in Boston on Wednesday night to win their third World Series in 10 years.
