A report was just released about the minimum income needed to live in each state. No wonder there's so much poverty! Minnesota is among the highest, and higher than our neighboring states.

The living wage minimum is based on how much it will cost you to support 2 adults (yourself and another adult) and 1 child. This was determined by using MIT’s Living Wage Calculator. You may be surprised that Minnesota and Florida are about the same at $52,000, and that we are very close to the same as Hawaii!

If you are looking to get the most bang for your buck then you could consider moving to West Virginia, Kentucky, Arkansas, or even South Dakota! Those states will allow you to live comfortably for only $45k per year.

If you have a desire to live the high life, then pack your bags and head to the east coast, where the minimum is $59k to $68k. The highest living wage needed goes to Washington D.C., our nation's capital.
