This Week In Rock History 9/6 – 9/13 [VIDEOS]
There seems to be an anniversary every week of some kind in the classic rock era whether it be an album release or some kind of milestone achievement and this week is no exception.
- A look at 1964: The Animals hit #1 on the singles chart with, "House of the Rising Sun"
- A look at 1968: The lead guitar track for, "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" for The Beatles 'White Album' was layed down by Mr. Slowhand himself Eric Clapton:
- A look at 1970: 'Mad Dogs and Englishmen' (double live album) makes it's first appearance on the album charts for Joe Cocker:
- A look at 1987: Dick Clark's American Bandstand makes it's last run on network TV after a 35 year run: The Beastie Boys perform, "Fight For Your Right To Party":
- A look at 1969: The Rolling Stones release, 'Through the Past, Darkly' which is their second compilation album, In 2005 this week they released 'A Bigger Bang' which is their 24th studio album.
