Being new to the St. Cloud area, I went on a search to plan for some outdoor water fun this weekend, and the quarries wins hands-down.

Temps are going to be in the 90's throughout the weekend, so keeping cool while having outdoor fun is required. Everything about this place is awesome in my opinion. So here's what you need to know about swimming at Quarry Park and Nature Preserve...

First off, they are located at 1802 County Road 137, Waite Park, MN 56387. You need a vehicle permit that can be purchased for $5 (or $20 for the year).

There's 2 quarry's you can swim in. Quarry #2 is 116 foot deep and has high rock cliffs, which are popular for cliff divers. Quarry #11 is 40 foot deep and has a swimming beach. If you'd like to scuba dive, go for it. There's 3 places designated for scuba diving!

They open at 8am until 1-hour after sunset, so around 9:30 or 10pm this weekend, which is plenty of time to get your swim on. Maybe I'll see you out there!
