Twins Fire Manager Ron Gardenhire

One day after the Minnesota Twins finished their fourth straight 90-plus loss season, the team dismissed manager Ron Gardenhire. Gardenhire, who had been manager of the Twins since 2002, had one year remaining on a 2-year contract.

Ron Gardenhire replaced Tom Kelly after Kelly resigned in 2001. The Twins finished this season with a 70-92 record. Gardenhire's career record is 1068-1039.
