
Twins To Retire Tom Kelly’s Number
The Twins will retire the number of longtime Twins manager Tom Kelly during the 2012 season. Kelly managed the Twins to 2 world series titles in 1987 and 1991. He managed the Twins from 1986-1998 and has served as a consultant in the Twins organization since 1998.
Kelly was informed of the decision to retire his number at the Diamond Awards Thursday night. Kelly’s #10 will join Harmon Killebrew (#3), Kent Hrbek (#14), Bert Blyleven (#28), Kirby Puckett (#34), Tony Oliva (#6) and Jackie Robinson (#42) as numbers retired with the Twins.
The number will be officially retired at a ceremony at Target Field on September 8.
