Well, if you travel anywhere within the United States, depending on where you are from in Minnesota, you may hear people telling you that you have a thick accent.  And in addition to that, you may hear people kind of make fun of the fact that we, here in Minnesota draw out our "o's".  That is true.  But to the extent that it is, does depend on where you grew up.  Rural? City? And also, what is your heritage? German? Scandanavian? Can also sway how you pronounce common words and phrases here in Minnesota.

DO MINNESOTANS HAVE AN ACCENT

You may think that you, or anyone else around Minnesota doesn't have an accent. Or that "we don't sound like those people in the movie Fargo".  Well, some people do, just listen.  AND if you THINK it doesn't happen, move away for awhile.  Even for a few months or so, and call back to your friends and family here in Minnesota.  You might just start to notice it a bit more than you did before.  It's kind of funny.

What is the most attractive, or loved accent in the United States?

I definitely didn't have Cajun Accent (Southern Lousiana) on my Bingo card.  Did you?  How about the accent from Long Island?  Nope!

...think of Theresa Caputo or Sebastian Maniscalco. According to the study, the accent is “bold, brash, and totally unforgettable.”

But check this out, the Long Island or New York accent also received the most negative scores.  It's one of those either love it or hate it.  It's very unmistakable.  You know FOR SURE when someone is from that area of the world.

How did Minnesota and/or the Midwest do?

Not even in the top 10 most loved or hated.  So, I guess we have that going for us.  People don't love it, but they also don't hate it.  Go ahead and continue to draw out your "O's".  Like "Minne-SO-ta", "ta-OWE-n" and so or sO forth.
