Several media outlets are reporting this afternoon that Minnesota Vikings offensive coordinator Pat Shurmur will take over as the head coach of the New York Giants at the season's end.

Shurmur was said to be considered for head coach positions in Chicago, Arizona, Detroit as well as in NY.

Schurmur was head coach for Cleveland in 2011 and 2012 when the Browns went 9-23.

Per NFL rules, the Giants cannot name Shurmur as their new coach until the end of the Minnesota's season. New York went 3-13 this season, and fired head coach Ben McAdoo after week twelve.
