Who has the title of Best Sandwich in Central Minnesota?
Downtown St. Cloud in Le Hotel St-Germain Suite Hotel
We could describe the sandwich, but we think the ingredients do the talking. 5th Avenue Grille Chicken Sandwich — $9. Grilled chicken breast, feta spread, pepper jack cheese, salsa verde, served with French fries, potato chips or cole slaw.
Nothing says Minnesota like the Black & White in Little Falls and their favorite sandwich — The Parmesan-Encrusted Walleye on toasted ciabatta with spring mix and a homemade cranberry aioli. Perfect with sweet potato fries.
Best Burger Ever invites you to come and try their Patty Melt Bundle. It’s served with Swiss cheese and fried onions on toasted rye bread, but order how you like it. Add jalapeños, tomato, pickles, you name it. The Bundle comes with shoestring fries and a soda for $7.99.
Picking just one great sandwich at Boulder Tap House is really tough. There’s the Carnita Cuban and the Honey BBQ Bacon Chicken Sandwich. But we nominate the Parmesan & Dill Ham Melt — honey-baked ham, parmesan and Swiss cheese, tomato, and cucumber dill sauce on a grilled Ciabatta bun.
On Lake L'Homme Dieu, Alexandria
Try the Taste of Cuba at Bug-a-boo Bay-Caribbean Club with pulled-pork, shaved ham and salami smothered with Swiss cheese, dill pickles and a mustard aioli on grilled Cuban bread. Drive, boat or bike to Bug-a-boo Bay and enjoy the outdoor patio, live music, sand volleyball and happy hour specials.

Erbert & Gerbert’s Sandwich Shop honors ancient Greece with The Spartan — Chicken Breast, Tomato, Lettuce, Hellmann's® Mayo, Cheddar Cheese, and Cherrywood Smoked Bacon. They’ve even adorned the sandwich with Silver Spring® Peppadew Mustard Sauce, a curiously fantastic condiment featuring the newly discovered South African sweet and spicy peppadew fruit.
Where’s the beef? Gerard's Dining and Sports Bar in Sauk Centre. Try the Prime Rib Dip made with thinly-sliced prime rib — not roast beef — on a parmesan hoagie bun with a side of au jus and horseradish sauce. Or get it Philly style with sautéed peppers, onions and melted Swiss Cheese.
The Good Earth Food Co-Op offers organic foods plus a “good for you” deli with soups, salads, sandwiches, baked goods and beverages. Try the Chicken Rosemary Wrap with baked chicken (antibiotic and hormone free), lettuce, mayo, dijon mustard, green onion, rosemary leaf and sliced almonds on a sprouted whole wheat tortilla.
Great sandwiches start with great bread from Great Harvest Bread Company in Waite Park. Try their Addictive Chicken Salad with chunks of white and dark meat chicken in a specially seasoned mayonnaise with sweet and spicy pecans. They roast the pecans right in the store making this sandwich addicting.
Jordie's in Bowlus offers great sandwiches. The Reuben with mounds of corned beef, sauerkraut, Swiss cheese, thousand island dressing, all on marble rye. Or the 4th Avenue BLT — bacon, lettuce, tomato and mayo on a fresh focaccia bread. Jordie's is open has breakfast, lunch, dinner.
Ko-Z's Eats and Sweets serves unique sandwiches, wraps, soups and desserts. Like the customer favorite, the Turkey Temptation — smoked turkey breast, crispy bacon, cheddar cheese, tomatoes, lettuce and homemade chipotle mayo piled high on toasted artisan ciabatta. During this contest, “like” Ko-Z's Facebook page, and get $1 off this sandwich.
Even though the Milaca Dairy Queen has plenty of sandwiches, not all of them are hot. In fact, maybe the best one is the DQ sandwich, with frosty DQ soft serve nestled between chocolate wafers. Enjoy a DQ ice cream sandwich on your way to the cabin or lake.
Neighbors Eatery and Saloon in Albertville offers the delicious Neighbors Roast Beef Sandwich with tender grilled roast beef, mushrooms, onions and provolone on top sourdough bread, mashed potatoes and smothered in our homemade gravy. Relax and unwind on their patio while the kids enjoy the new game room.

Specially-priced now: Four Alarm Pig's Ass Masterpiece with Boston pork butt topped with giardinera veggies, spicy black porter barbecue sauce, pepper jack cheese, spicy red cabbage slaw on a baguette.
The Honey Bacon Club at Quiznos, an all-time favorite — ham, all natural turkey breast, smokey bacon, Swiss cheese, iceberg lettuce, tomato and onion with a delicious Honey French dressing served on either rosemary parmesan, garlic focaccia, Italian white, Artesian wheat, flatbread or wraps. Or try the new Chicken Milano.
Take a break at River City Extreme in Monticello with a River City Club Sandwich. It's a mouth-watering combination of grilled ham and turkey topped with Swiss and American cheese. Add lettuce, bacon and mayo on sourdough bread. Relax and sit in the garden patio or by the firepit.
Friday's Jack Daniel's Chicken Sandwich is special. Grilled chicken breast with Jack Daniel’s glaze, topped with applewood-smoked bacon, mixed cheese, Cajun-spiced fried onion strings, lettuce, tomato, pickles and Jack Daniel’s mayo. All on a brioche bun. Or try the Caribbean Chicken, California Club or new Triple Stack Reuben.
