This video was everywhere over the weekend. Melrose High and Albany High had a high school basketball playoff game at Halenbeck Hall.  The winner would advance to the state tournament.

Well, the game came down to the last seconds when a player on the Albany team put in a buzzer-beating shot that APPEARED to be the winner.  Their fans were so excited they stormed the floor.

But, the officials hadn't given a decision on the shot yet, and when they did, they WAVED IT OFF . . . meaning it didn't count. So the score stayed the same and Melrose ended up winning.  And that sent THEIR fans storming onto the court.

As you can see from the screen shot that the ball was still in the players hands when the clock is at zero.

Here's another view.
