Original is best, generally as a rule. This pertains to almost everything.  Movies, TV shows, and my favorite cookie... Oreos.

I like the regular flavor.  The Original Flavor... not double stuff either.  The regular, original cookie.  Although I can make an exception for the regular Oreo thins too.

Throughout the last few years, Oreo has come out with some crazy flavors.  There are the mystery cookies, which turned out to be like fruity pebbles.  That's just a big ol' nope.  But it did get a lot of people to buy and try Oreos.  There was a contest to see if you could guess the flavor.  They also have the seasonal flavors.  And seasonal colors.  I'm OK with the colors, as long as they taste like the original cookies.

Now, they are messing with Oreos again. But this time they have launched a new flavor that is pretty good.  That is, if you like mint chocolate chip ice cream, which does seem to be one of the favorite flavors of most people who eat ice cream.  And apparently it tastes JUST LIKE the favored ice cream.

One person, Alexandra Foster, posted their own review of the new cookie flavor and have rave reviews.

Visually, these cookies are stunning. The vibrant filling is surrounded by the classic wafer cookies with an adorable upgrade. In line with the ice-cream theme, one wafer is embossed with a crisscross design that mimics the pattern on an ice cream cone (a supercute detail that I greatly appreciated). As soon as I opened the packet, I was hit with a whiff of mint.

If the flavor is that good... and I many times with put desserts in the freezer and try them that way, how would it be after being frozen?  Would it be even more similar to the ice cream?  Only ice cream you can hold... like in a chocolate cone?  I'm willing to try, even in my totally anti-any other flavor of Oreo stance.  I would try this version.

They are available now in retail stores for around $5.  That is, if they haven't all sold out already.  But, as they say, crunch all you want, they will make more.  At least for now. It is a limited edition cookie flavor.
