Where Do All the Beads Go After Mardi Gras?

Have ever wondered what happened to all the beads after Mardi Gras?  Well, evidently a lot of them ended up in the sewer system below the French Quarter. According to (New Orleans Times-Picayune) cleaning crews removed 46 tons of beads from the sewers in preparation for Mardi Gras, coming up in a few weeks.
