August 18, 2011 will officially be proclaimed Motley Crue Day in West Hollywood, California.

The group will be honored with the Elmer Valentine Award for their contributions to the Los Angeles music scene all throughout the 80's. The Crue got their start playing gigs all over the famed Sunset Strip at places like the Roxy Theater and Whiskey A Go-Go. Their video for "Kickstart My Heart" was even taped at the Whiskey.

Motley Crue will get their award during the 4th Annual Sunset Strip Music Festival at the House of Blues in L.A. which runs August 18-20.
