American Couple Wins Wife Carrying Contest – Minnesota?
This has got to be one of the strangest competitions in the world. I know there are some crazy things that people do, but this one has got to be right up there with the weird.

CRAZY COMPETITION
If you have been paying attention to some weird news, you probably heard of the Wife Carrying Contest. It takes place in Sonkajärvi, Finland. People from all over the world compete in this race. And it's crazy.
HOLD YOUR BREATH!
Not only are men carrying their wives on their back, but the wives are all upside down. AND there is a water obstacle. Depending on how long the wife's torso is, their head will very often wind up in the water. Dragged. And sometimes it seems like the guys go kind of slow through the water, and if their wife's head in the water, that can't be a good thing.
Anyway, an American couple won the competition this year. From Minnesota? Nope, but close. They are from Wisconsin! Close enough.
If you ever want to enter this competition, here are thing things that you can expect.
WIFE CARRYING COURSE DETAILS
The track length is 253.5 M or .158 Mile
"No penalty for dropping your wife" . Hmmmmm
Doesn't really sound like my cup of tea, but if you are into doing things that are definitely outside the box, or maybe a bucket list type event, check out the Wife Carrying Competition. Great conversation starter.
