The only problem I would have with this weekend's time change being the last one ever would be I'll never get that hour we lose this weekend back. But, I can live with that.

Democrats and Republicans in the Senate rarely find anything they can agree on, especially lately.  But it seems that both Senate Republicans and Democrats both really want an end to these bi-annual time changes.

My first guess was that the time changes might be messing with their internal "happy hour" clocks.  That's serious business.

Well, it looks like there is a bipartisan bill in the Senate to make this weekend the very last time, ever we will have a time change.

Really, I can't see what purpose these bi-annual time changes serve now.  Maybe a hundred years ago there was some reason.  When they first were implemented, it was to save energy. Some people say it was to give farmers more daylight working in the fields. Who knows what rational was used but presently there seems to be no real reason for it all.

I for one, would be totally for ending this madness. I really see no benefit except for the extra hour of sleep when we change in the Fall, but that's about it. At least the clock in my car would be correct all year.

Just the fact that both sides of today's political spectrum agree on something gives me some hope for the future, but I'm not holding my breath.

If the geniuses in D.C. get this accomplished, perhaps they can put their thinking caps on and my get rid of Winter, too.  Now were talkin'
