Are Your Kids in the Best School District in Minnesota?
"I'm not old or new, but middle school, fifth grade, like junior high" ~Jimmy Pop
Some kids are lucky to be born into a family that either already lives in a great school district, or can afford to move to one. As Certified Northern Minnesota Trailer Trash, I was not one of them. Crosby-Ironton was (and still is) just fine. I used to hate on that area a lot, but not anymore. C-I doesn't appear on this top public schools list, but the St. Cloud area got represented.
Top Public School Districts in Minnesota
#1: Wayzata Public Schools
- 12,318 students
- 19:1 student-teacher ratio
Why Wayzata? They aced Niche's grades in Academics, Teachers, Clubs & Activities, College Prep, and Administration. Wayzata is the #2 school district in the state for athletes, and is the 3rd-best Minnesota school district to teach.
#2: Minnetonka Public School District
- 11,248 students
- award-winning arts and music programs
Not only does Minnetonka possess a lake to purify yourself in, it also has the state's second-best school district. Minnetonka aced all of the same criteria that Wayzata did...but scored a bit lower on 'Diversity'. Shame.
#3: Eden Prairie Schools
- 8,939 students
Eden Prairie aced all of the criteria that the top 2 districts did...except for teachers. Eden Prairie is ranked the 31st-best district to teach in the state. To be fair, Eden Prairie is the only district in the Top Four to ace "Diversity".
#4: Edina Public School District
- 8,610 students
- SO. MUCH. MONEY.
Edina Public School District is home to the hockey team that everyone else in the state loves to cheer against. The 3rd-best school district in Minnesota for athletes, they have a good school, too.
Top St. Cloud-area Public School District
#10: Sartell-St. Stephens School District
- 4,098 students
SMALL BUT MIGHTY! And ranked higher (#19) than Eden Prairie (#31) for best places in Minnesota to teach.
