Even though the Band had a good hand full of singers, we generally think of Ronnie James Dio, but the voice you hear on  "Stone Cold", was that of Joe Lynn Turner (Fandango,Deep Purple) who was the bands third lead

singer.

The band belonged to Richie Blackmore that featured singers Ronnie James Dio, Joe Lynn Turner, Doogie White and Graham Bonnet. The early years of Rainbow had so many players in it, that's a story in itself.

They sold little over 28 Million albums worldwide and at least 4 Million in the U.S. alone.

The song was written by Joe Lynn Turner, Ritchie Blackmore and Roger Glover.
The song came about after Glover was telling Turner how his first wife up and left him 'Stone Cold'.
