You are a person in college, you work very hard to get good grades and hopefully succeed in the job world when you graduate.  You wind up graduating with honors, actually the HIGHEST honor- Summa Cum Laude.  Your family orders a cake for your graduation party and it comes back censored.  Yeah!  What could be censored about that?

Well, if you aren't educated, or at least not as much as the person you are making the cake for, you might read this as something that it's not.  Summa CUM Laude.  That middle word might seem profane.  I hadn't seen or met or heard of anyone having this issue, but you can see something new everyday.

What would you do if you had a cake like this ordered.  You are so proud of your son for achieving this honor.  You pick up the cake and the frosting says Summa---Laude.  Seriously???

Now, I know what you are thinking... the people at the bakery didn't understand.  And you are right.  But here is the kicker- when the cake was ordered, online, the phrase came back flagged for profanity.  There is a special instructions box where the latin phrase was explained and even with the latin translation.  Either that was ignored, or they didn't believe that was the truth.

Now, they can do it over.  Actually, the bakery is gong to refund the cost and has apologized.  It was humiliating.

Ignorance is bliss??
