Acoustic Music Night Is Perfect For Local Musicians
For people like myself, it just doesn’t get any better than going to a rowdy, visually stimulating rock concert – complete with half stacks, smoke machines, laser lights, and drums loud enough to cause permanent hearing loss. Yes sir, that’s the life for me.
I’ve seen my fair share of them over the years – CKY, Kansas, Dream Theater, and Tool just to name a few. Attending a well produced rock concert is one of the coolest experiences you can have (in my opinion.) But as a musician, I know there’s more to music than screaming your lungs out and smashing guitars on stage.
Performances on acoustic instruments can be every bit as transcendental and breath taking as rambunctious, head banging concerts. Not to mention, playing acoustically is actually far more challenging (although it might not seem that way.) As a player, it’s always nice to have the opportunity to jam with other musicians. That’s why I’m looking forward to Acoustic Music Night at The Great River Regional Library in Elk River.
It’s an event where musicians can bring their acoustic instruments and jam with other players – taking place on May 3rd at 6 pm and admission is free. I definitely recommend this to my fellow artists. It’s always fun to perform and you never know what knowledge you’ll gain from playing with like minded people.
