Adult Coloring Book Cheers Up Cancer Patients With Dark Humor [VIDEO]
Cancer isn't funny. We can all agree on that. But is it something that can be laughed at?
Kim Kovel thinks so.
Kim Kovel is a cancer patient going through chemotherapy. She also admittedly has a short attention span, and needed something uplifting to help the chemotherapy sessions go by quicker.
Why not a coloring book?
Kim called a colleague at Nike to create an activity book for her. Enter: "Hello My Name is Cancer."
If it sounds dark, that's because it is; the book uses dark humor to get a laugh out of the patients. Laughter has been found to have awesome health benefits.
A Kickstarter campaign kicks off next week, with a goal of $15,000, which will get 1,000 books into cancer treatment centers across the U.S.
