Another Blockbuster, Another Crazy Popcorn Bucket – Needs a Key
There seems to be a trend now when a potentially huge blockbuster movie comes out. They get some added fun when you order your snacks at the theatre before heading in to watch the movie.
Remember the move Dune when they had that popcorn bucket that looked like a... well, there is no other way to put this, a butthole. It was supposed to look like one of the worms in the movie, but seriously just turned out looking like a butthole. Probably not the goal they were looking for, but that's what it looks like whether they like that or not.
There was also a special popcorn bucket for the Deadpool Wolverine movie. That one had popcorn basically coming out the mouth. Odd. But also fun if you are a kid and want something fun to eat popcorn from, plus you can keep it afterwards.
This time, the new gimmicky popcorn bucket is for the new Mission Impossible movie with Tom Cruise which comes out in a couple of weeks for Memorial Day weekend. This time the popcorn bucket needs a couple of keys to open it.
I'm not sure if you absolutely HAVE to use the keys to open the bucket, but it certainly looks like you do.
Some of the reason these new popcorn buckets have been great for the theatre is because they cost a bit more than the already exorbitant price for popcorn. This brings in extra revenue for the theatre when they are still struggling since the pandemic.
