Another Minnesota Brewery Shuts It’s Doors
It's extremely sad to see local Minnesota businesses forced to close their doors due to this horrific pandemic. It seems every day there is news of more shutdowns. Some temporary and some not so lucky are making it a permanent thing.
Wayzata BrewWorks in Wayzata announced yesterday that they are throwing in the towel due to mandates initiated by the governor, in an effort to curb the spread of the pandemic. I'm not knocking Governor Walz. Tough decisions have to be made. But it sure would be nice if there was a safety net for these businesses.
It appears the closing of BrewWorks is totally a financial thing. There have been no known COVID-19 cases traced to the brewery.
“We are now faced with a second shut down imposed by Governor Walz, a shutdown that doesn’t involve any sustainable relief from the Governor in order to help alleviate the economic calamity brought to our industry as a result of his decision,” the brewery said in a statement. “We have many thoughts around the Governor’s actions; we will leave it at this; Until the governor and others making the decisions around shutdowns and restrictions are personally financially affected by those decisions, those decisions will continue to cause unnecessary financial hardship.”
BrewWorks has been in business since 2015, when it opened on the banks of Lake Minnetonka
