The National Weather Service officially recorded just 3½ inches of new snow when the sun came up this morning at the St. Cloud Airport -- but some parts of Central Minnesota measured nine or more inches. Here are some totals from around the area:

  • Wadena:  10"
  • Fort Ripley:  9.5"
  • Pillager:  9"
  • Little Falls:  8"
  • Long Prairie:  8"
  • St. Cloud State University:  6"
  • Kimball:  6"
  • St.Joseph:  5.5"
  • Waite Park:  5.5"
  • St. Augusta:  5"
  • Avon:  5"
  • MSP Airport:  4.4"
  • St. Cloud Airport: 3.5"
  • Onamia:  2.5"

This is a heavy wet snow, so take it easy out there when you're shoveling. The rest of this week looks dry, with below normal temperatures.
