If you rent and have fallen behind on your rent and utilities, there's a chance you may qualify for assistance from RentHelpMN.  This is a great program that may help you get caught up on rent and utilities dating all the way back to March 13th, 2020.

What about future rent?  There may even be some help for you there also. If you are struggling financially due to the COVID-19 pandemic and think even future rents may be a problem, you may qualify for help with that also. Future rent payments are made three month at a time.

If you are currently a renter and can answer YES to these question, you may be in luck and qualify for assistance in you rent problems.

  • Are you a renter household?
  • Does your household income meet the program's limits?
  • Has someone in your household (1) qualified for unemployment or (2) had a decrease in income or increase in expenses due to Covid-19?
  • Is someone in your household at risk for housing instability or homelessness?

Eligible expenses covered by this program include ; rent, manufactured home lot rental payments and rental of a manufactured home.  Also eligible to be covered by the program are utilities, (gas, electric, power, heat sewer, water bulk fuel) and even any eviction costs incurred, as well as other costs to keep you in your home.
