You may have heard that Virgin has purchased the rights to make a movie based on Robert Greenfield's enormously popular book about the making of Exile On Main Street. The Stones were on their creative peak at the time, but the debauchery that went on in the house they rented to record in, nearly destroyed the band. The story would definitely make good drama and if they find the right actors to play the very unique looking guys, it could be a pretty good movie.

In essence, though, it comes down to attitude more than looks, so more than likely, they'll go with a couple of unknowns for the parts. But we all love to take a crack at casting stuff like this, so here are my choices to take the roles of the two major players-

Strutting Lead Singer with those unmistakeable lips and hips: Thomas Hardy- To start he's British, so no stretch there for the accent. His lips are puffy and he's in pretty good shape, but they would definitely have to ugly the dude up, as he is known as a heart-throb. Most recently he's been in This Means War with Reese Witherspoon and Chris Pine.  He was also in Inception and played the Romulan clone of Picard in Star Trek: Nemesis. He'll also play the Batman villain Bane in the upcoming Dark Knight Rises film.

The enormously talented Lead Guitarist whose liquid licks virtually flow out of his fingers, when they're not gripping a heroin needle and smoldering heater. James Franco- He's skinny, with basically the same facial structure and gaunt features that have become too apparent in the Senior Keith.  He's also apparently well-acquainted with the drug culture the Glimmer Twins and troupe were immersed in during the recording sessions. Oscar nominated for the gut-wrenching 127 Hours and nominated for over 30 other Hollywood accolades, he's certainly got the acting chops to pull off just about anyone. The chemistry between he and Hardy might be electric, since they would be able to share stories of playing villains in superhero films. Franco was the New Green Goblin in Spider-Man 3 and had an uncredited bit part in The Green Hornet.

What Do You Think?

Of course, that's just my opinion- you may automatically want to see Johnny Depp as Keith. Other names that have been bandied about are Keanu Reeves as Keith and Val Kilmer as Mick. But I submit to you that all three are too old, and Kilmer would have to go on some massive weight loss program to pull it off. So I want to know, who would you like to see in the roles? You can give my choices your seal of approval by voting for them below, or you can write in your own candidates. I'd be interested to hear your ideas.
