Cold Spring Retires Police Dog Abby Early

COLD SPRING -- The retirement of a Cold Spring Police dog came sooner than many hoped.

The Cold Spring Police Department has retired it's narcotics dog, Abby.

Abby has been on the force since 2007. Her handler, Police Chief Chris Boucher is currently on medical leave.

Abby was expected to retire in January 2017 but since Boucher is on leave the department decided to retire her early.

A formal retirement ceremony will be held when Boucher returns. The date of that ceremony has yet to be set.
