Delta Offering Cash Payout to Passengers of the Fateful Flight from Minneapolis
By now, basically everyone has heard about the flight that originated in Minneapolis, and crashed, turning upside down on the runway in Toronto. In fact, they are still trying to clear the runway so it can be used. The delays and cancelled flights in Toronto have been skyrocketing.

It's been days.
Luckily, there were no fatalities from that crash. That is a miracle in itself. But, there were several people who had to go to the hospital for minor and moderate injuries.
Now, since when you have to evacuate a plane in an emergency with none of your personal belongings, the passengers want their stuff back. Understandable. What is the delay on that? Passengers were standing in the airport chanting that they want their bags back. It's winter, and many of them didn't have any coats on because they left those on the plane too.
Delta has now stated that they will give each passenger involved in that fateful flight a $30,000 payout. There is also a lawsuit pending. IF and probably when there is a settlement from that lawsuit, whatever the settlement is, the $30,000 will be deducted from that settlement amount.
From KARE 11:
Some are looking at this payout offer as a PR stunt, so they are proceeding with caution. That is understandable, but if it were me, I would take it and also proceed with the collective lawsuit.
