There are many people like me that wear glasses that probably feel like I do, as I wonder how do my glasses get so dirty? Keeping our eyes clean can be trickier than it should be.

Of course, there are different types of lens cleaners out there, either sprays or pre-moistened wipes. But there’s still a chance that those aren’t going to do what you bought them for.

So, how do you get your lens’ clean without scratching them? I came across an article in the daily email I get from The Morning Brew.

The information came from an article from NBC News that asked an optician from Illinois what is the best way to clean your glasses.  Susan Johnson says these are the steps she recommends.

First, rinse your lenses off with lukewarm water. This is an important step because it will remove gritty particles off your lenses that could cause scratches.

Secondly, place a small amount of dish soap on your fingertips, and gently rub it on the lenses and around your frame.

Third, rinse your lenses and frame with warm water.

Fourth, dry off your glasses with a microfiber cloth. Susan Johnson says this part is key. She adds not to use your shirt or a paper towel because they could have dirt particles or rough texture which can lead to scratches.

Did you know that dirty glasses can cause your head to hurt. The article quotes Dr. Janice Fan from Milwaukee who says that dirty lenses can cause headaches or eye strain.

So, if you wear glasses and have frequent headaches, dirty glasses could cause the problem.

Keeping your glasses clean, while avoiding scratches which could affect your vision cb be challenging. Hopefully, these tips help.
