Who says rockers don't have a soft side? The ballads aren't just so the chicks will dig them. Turns out, inside that hard, tattooed exterior lives a squishy little human.

A cancer stricken patient recently had his wish come true when he got to play guitar with a real rock band and that real rock band included Duff McKagan. The former Guns n' Roses and current Velvet Revolver bassist teamed up with the Seattle based cover band Rewind for a show and asked the 13 year old Simone Capelli to join in.

The set list was comprised of cover songs by Metallica, Seattle based Nirvana and the group, including Duff even played a couple of songs by Guns n Roses. After the show, Duff told Seattle's KING 5 News that Simone is a "cool kid."

This was a pretty big deal for Simone. He is from Italy and was flown in for the show at the Hard Rock Cafe. Everything was arranged through the Make a Wish Foundation and organizer Jessie Elenbaas said their goal was to make Simone "feel like a rock star".

I say mission accomplished.
