School is starting back up again and, just like that, fall activities are starting to get into full swing. Hemker Park and Zoo in Freeport is hosting Fall Zoo Fest this Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

During the event you'll be able to celebrate all things fall. They'll be hosting a fall craft and vendor sale full of fresh harvest produce. You'll also be able to buy pumpkins, apples and perennials.

Yes, pumpkins will already be on-sale! It's here just in time for your fall decorating. A few of the vendors that are listed to be on hand include Cici’s Creations and Lil Pen Popz.

In the past they've had face painting for kids, train rides, amish baskets for sale and a farmers market.

Of course, you'll also be able to check out all of the zoo animals as well! They've got a giraffe, kangaroo, zebra, bob cat, money, otter and many more.

Discounted admission is $13 plus tax per person for children ages 2 and older. You can buy your tickets online at Hemker Park & Zoo's website.

Also, mark your calendar for Boo At The Zoo. On Saturday, Oct. 9 kids will be able to trick-or-treat around the zoo from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. You're encouraged to dress in costume and bring a bucket or bag for candy. Tickets for that event are on-sale now.

The zoo is open daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. through October 31. They're located 26715 Co Rd 39 in Freeport.
