Rules differ on different airlines. Depending on your airline, you may be required to where a mask for the entire flight. Delta, for sure, has implemented this rule. Also, most airlines forbid flight attendants from touching any luggage.  So, if your bag is too heavy for you to load in the overhead bin on your own, you best check it with your luggage.

Most airlines have set aside a 3 hour period for the hazmat suit guys to clean the plane as thoroughly as possible. Delta claims to have a state of the art air filtration system and so far is not seating people directly next to each other.

If Summer travel is in your plans, be prepare to wear a mask for the duration of your trip.
