It's Friday the 13th.  Very famous day as an "unlucky" day.  A whole series of movies has been based on the concept.  I am amazed at how many movies came out of that series.  Jason Voorhees, who is supposedly already dead, is like the original zombie. Only instead of eating his victims, he carries a big knife and slices and dices his victims.

There was a study done on the most common superstitions in each state conducted by the Potawatomi Hotel and Casino.  Casinos and luck seem to run together.  If you head to a casino you may see people with their "good luck charms" sitting on slot machines next to them, or at a table.  People have their own beliefs on things like these, who are we to judge, right?

WHAT WERE THE FINDINGS ON SUPERSTITIONS

Not really a surprise, but the most common superstition in Minnesota, along with a few other states was a superstition surrounding Friday the 13th.  The other states are Tennessee, Virginia and Washington D.C.  The other most popular superstition was throwing salt over your shoulder for luck.  If you ever watched the Rachel Ray show, she would do that quite often while cooking.

OTHER POPULAR SUPERSTITIONS

There is the Lucky Penny, the Lucky Prime Numbers, Owl's Bad Omen (huh?), Bad Luck in Threes, and finally, the always popular Lucky Rabbits Foot.  Kind of gross when you really think about it.  You are carrying around an animal's foot.  Yuck.  I know some of them are fake, still gross.

If you go to a casino, another very popular lucky charm you may see are those little troll dolls.  The ones with the crazy brightly colored hair.  Apparently people really like those for luck.  Not sure if they really bring any luck. Actually I do know - but believe what you want to believe.  Again, no judgement.  You do you!

TAYLOR SWIFT

Now, if you are Taylor Swift, or a Swifty, you may see Friday the 13th as a Lucky Day.  Some judgement... KIDDING!  Kind of.
