Plan Two Must-See Places in Minnesota for Fall Colors & Hiking

I know - it's only the end of July.  But there may have to be some planning involved for this deal.  If you are someone who loves to go hiking around with beautiful fall colors all around you, these two places in Minnesota might be exactly what you might want to plan to do.

There is a hiking trail that I am referring to in the Northern part of Minnesota and also a great area to the South-ish and near the Wisconsin border.

THE SUPERIOR HIKING TRAILS

This one is considered one of the best hiking trails in Minnesota.  It's near Two Harbors and there are some VRBOs that are available in the area.  Make a weekend of it.  Also - you might need that, or more to explore the area.  There are about 300 miles of trails all over the area.  It extends from just North of Two Harbors to around the Gooseberry Falls area.  Tons of great views, trails - for every level of hiker, and awesome Fall color viewing if you go at the right time of the year.

Now, we head in the total opposite direction.  On the plus side, if you want to see the fall views, you will have more of a chance to do that since those colors don't change as quickly as they do in the Northern part of the state.

Taylors Falls area has a bunch of trail options that run along the St. Croix river, plus there is the Alpine Slide at Wild Mountain, which isn't as large or long as the one in Lutsen, but it is still fun on a smaller scale.

Time to book a VRBO or AirBnB for a fall weekend getaway.  The closer that time comes, the more slim the opportinities will be.
