This is such a fun time of year. Halloween decorations are everywhere, including colorful pumpkins that bring a sense of fall to doorsteps and front porches around the area.

There are many reasons to enjoy this time of year, including getting outside with the family. Depending on your family, what you consider fun will vary from what other people consider fun.

This Saturday and Sunday there will be an event that caters to all types of families and it’s raising money for a worthy cause as well.

Kandi Acres in Hawick, which is between Paynesville and New London is holding a Halloween Bash that benefits the St. Cloud Veterans Family Resource Center in St. Cloud.

What makes this event unique, between 11 and 7 on Saturday and 11 and 4 Sunday, there will be activities planned that will cater to everyone. The activities include games and prizes, a corn pit, bounce houses, a pumpkin smash, an apple launch, costume contest, a silent auction and more.

Plus, between 1 and 6 Saturday afternoon, there will be a no scare haunted house with no actors for the little ones. The ticket price for the no scare haunted house is $5.

There will also be a craft sale during the day that will allow you to help support local crafters.

Then on Saturday night from 6:30-10, you can enjoy a movie by the fire, and the haunted house turns into the full scare haunted house for those that loved to feel their heart jump up into their throat.

The folks at Kandi Acres promise the haunted house will be one that will leave you talking afterward. Tickets for the full scare haunted house are just $10 each.

While you are there, get to know all that Kandi Acres has to offer and support this locally owned business.

Here's a great chance to take a lot of pictures and make memories that your family will reflect on for years to come.
