ROYALTON -- For ten years thousands of people gather in fields near Royalton for three days of rock with the party known as Halfway Jam.

Sandy Henry and her husband started Halfway Jam after touring other concerts they visited over the years.

"When my husband and I use to go to festivals, if you walk in a festival area there's like a hill or lower level," says Sandy Henry. "When we go to Moon Dance or Rock Fest, he would always say somebody started this, and look I think our grounds would be perfect for this."

This three day event starts tonight with music starting at 5:00 p.m. and goes until July 27th.

Throughout the weekend there will be live music from bands like, Pop Evil, Saliva, Tesla, and Ratt. And while the music plays there will be food vendors, and items for sale that you are welcome to look at.

Now with an event as large as this you may think there would be some trouble with so many people around, but Sandy says that's not the case.

"Actually it's pretty good here, the campers respect our wishes and the other campers wishes."

The atmosphere is unlike anything words can describe and as soon as the weekend is over plans for next year get started.

"In about September we start talking about next year, in November we start looking for bands, and start booking in January," says Henry.
