Had the opportunity to go to the Heart concert with Joan Jett opening.  Great show. They all still sound amazing.  And before anyone says... well, yeah.. duh.  You never really know how someone that has been doing this since the early 70s or earlier is going to sound.  Sometimes they still sound great and other times... well, not so much.

Joan Jett sounds amazing.  Heart with Ann and Nancy Wilson, still sound great, but Ann doesn't have quite the power she used to with her vocals, but it didn't take away from anything that they were doing.  It was still an amazing show.

Being that it was on a Sunday night, and having to get up the next day at 4am, and this show was at the Xcel in St. Paul, I was super hesitant.  But as it was put to me- what if you never get this opportunity to see them again?  Point taken.  We went.  And I got home around midnight, and I'm tired.  But it was totally worth it.

I love hearing their takes on what was going on when the song was done.  Unfortunately I cannot post the videos of the songs and what they were saying here, but you can probably find something on YouTube.  I tend to forget that they have all been doing this for so long.  Joan Jett talked about making some music with Michael J Fox while they were filming "Light of Day".  And Ann Wilson talked about how record companies were so different than they are now.  And how the industry and really changed.  Some for the better.  It seems that the artist does have a bit more say than they used to, so that part is good.

I just grabbed a few pictures here and there... and some food from a restaurant nearby.

If you have time before a show at the Xcel, or if you are just in the area and want to try a delicious meal- definitely check out Louie's.  It's the 3rd floor of the Cosetta about a block from the Xcel Energy Center.
