After performing at the 12 12 12 Concert for Sandy Relief and on Saturday Night Live over the weekend, rumors are flying that the former members of Nirvana are planning a reunion tour with a "surprise" lead singer.

Courtney Love must be just miffed. Talk has been ongoing about a Nirvana reunion tour with the three surviving members and a "surprise" lead singer.

The members, Dave Grohl, Krist Novoselic and Pat Smear have been jamming together for a while and Dave has announced that his other band, Foo Fighters will be on a hiatus. Right now, Dave is currently working on finishing up his documentary Sound City in time for the Sundance Film Festival next month and it's not going to take three years for the press junket which leaves plenty of free time for Dave to do a Nirvana reunion tour.

A so called source went to the New York Post and said that Dave was planning this Nirvana reunion tour with a "secret" singer which immediately made me think that maybe Paul McCartney would be the front man, but this "source" says it's not going to be Paul who performed with them at the 12 12 12 Concert for Sandy Relief and on Saturday Night Live.

Reps for Dave are calling the rumors "nonsense" which is too bad. I saw Nirvana once and would have loved to go to another show, but I don't think it would be the same without Kurt. I think if they got a really great lead singer that made sense to take over like Paul Westerberg of The Replacements, or Buzz Osborne of The Melvins (who was a high school friend of Kurt's) this could get off the ground very easily. Maybe even Dave Grohl himself could take over the vocals and they could find a new drummer. When The Who comes off the road, they could take drummer Zak Starkey along to play in Dave's place.

What do you think? Would you go see a Nirvana reunion?
