The Minnesota Airport Commission released some facts today on how Minnesota's airports are doing, and one of the stats that stood out was the huge number that's associated with people flying in or out of MSP and how much they spend while they are here. Billions Of Dollars

According to the Minnesota Airport Commission, the organization that oversees and operates the Minneapolis-St. Paul Airport (MSP) "supports more than 93,000 total jobs and contributes $3.3 billion in local, state, and federal government revenues."

That is just the tip of the iceberg, as the report goes on to toss out an even larger number.

"The study provides a new economic snapshot, based on 2024 MSP activity data, offering an update to previous studies in 2016 and 2012. MSP’s total economic output of $21.3 billion in 2024 is notably higher compared to previous studies — up 34% from 2016 ($15.9 billion) and more than double the 2012 level ($10.1 billion)."

Average Visitor Spend While In Minnesota

The study also shows just how much the average domestic and international traveller spends while here on business or vacation.  "Domestic visitors spend approximately $720 per trip and stay 4.5 nights on average, while international visitors spend around $990 per trip and stay for about 6.3 nights."

17th Busiest Airport In The United States

The study, which looked at the year 2024 for statistics, showed that MSP was the 17th busiest airport in the country over that time period, seeing 37.2 million total passengers.

Kevin Williams Career As A Minnesota Viking

Kevin Williams was announced as one of the 15 finalists for the Pro Football Hall of Fame, class of 2026 this morning. After being drafted 9th overall in 2003 for the Minnesota Vikings he spent the next 10 years with the organization, amassing over 171 regular-season games played for the Vikings and totaling 465 tackles, five interceptions, 60 sacks, 84 QB hits, 104 tackles for loss, seven forced fumbles, 13 fumble recoveries, and 68 passes defensed. Williams scored four defensive touchdowns for Minnesota. Two were interceptions returns and two fumble recoveries.
